Bio of Rami Olwan

I received my LLB from Yarmouk University in Jordan. I obtained my LL.M. from Columbia University in New York City, United States. I have also an LL.M. in International and Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham, Buckingham, United Kingdom.

Since completion of my undergraduate degree, I have been working as a researcher and legal consultant in intellectual property and internet laws in a number of countries including: United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Sultanate of Oman, and Palestine. I have completed a PhD entitled ‘Intellectual Property and Development: Theory and Practice’ under an Australian government scholarship at Queensland University of Technology, Faculty of Law, Australia, under the supervision of Professor Brian Fitzgerald. Currently, I am based in Australia teaching and researching intellectual property and business laws.

My main research interests are in the areas of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), open-content licensing and intellectual property and development. My long CV is available here.
