Springer Berlin Heidelberg has recently published a new book for me entitled Intellectual Property and Development Theory and Practice. Foreward by Ahmed Abdel Latif, Senior Program Manager International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), Geneva.
The book discusses some notable debates in the arena of international trade law and globalization. It looks at the basic structure of the WTO, its function, and decision-making, and explores key economic and legal concepts underpinning the WTO, including Most-Favoured-Nation Treatment and National Treatment.
I attended the CI regional meeting for Asia- Pacific and the Middle East that was held in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia on 5-7 March 2012 and the Consumers in the Information Society, Access, Fairness and Representation conference that was held also in Kula Lumpur, on 8-9 March 2012.
The 21st century started with a bang, at least from the perspective of the widespread adoption of information technologies, and market hype for overvalued technology stock. There was a second bang shortly afterwards, when the bubble burst.
